The National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) is a significant entity in India
 that ensures quality standards are met by businesses and products and Quality management System

Who are they?

NABCB is a constituent board of the Quality Council of India (QCI). It was formed as an autonomous body by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

 

  • Its main function: To accredit the Certification Bodies and the Inspection Bodies.
  • The “Police of the Policemen”: If a company wants an “ISO 9001” certificate, they go to a Certification Body (like BSI or TUV). NABCB is the authority that checks if those Certification Bodies are competent and honest enough to issue that certificate.
