What is the ONDLS Portal?

The ONDLS (Online National Drugs Licensing System) is a single-window portal developed by C-DAC in collaboration with the CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation). It is designed to modernize and centralize the licensing process for drugs, cosmetics, and certain medical components across India.

Why a Medical Firm needs the ONDLS Portal

If your firm deals with pharmaceuticals or the chemical components used in medical products, the ONDLS portal is used for:

1. Manufacturing & Sales Licenses: The main system serves as the official platform which enables users to apply for new licenses and renew existing licenses and track their progress for drug and cosmetic manufacturing and sales permits.

2. Solvent Monitoring (Critical 2025-2026 Update): The government established a Digital Monitoring System which operates through ONDLS to address the international problems that emerged from syrup contamination incidents.

  • The companies must submit their production information which includes all high-risk solvents, such as Glycerin and Propylene Glycol, in batch format.
  • You need to present the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) along with vendor distribution information through direct submission to the portal.

3. Uniformity: It connects State Regulatory Authorities with the Central Authority (CDSCO) so that a medical firm’s paperwork is consistent across different states in India.

4. Certifications: Firms use it to obtain international-standard certifications like WHO-GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and CoPP (Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product).
